π’ Notices
Hi all, happy Thanksgiving! Iβm circulating the sign-up form for PhD business cards. Some reminders: * You get a free 250-card application once during your program; itβs recommended to do the application after you reach candidacy so that you can put PhD Candidate on the card. * We do a business card application sign-up once per academic year. If you are interested, please fill out the form at https://rotmanphd.ca/resources/business-card-application
SGS has assessed your fees for the 2026β2027 academic year. To defer your fees, please log in to ACORN, select Financial Account, then Tuition Fee Deferral, and follow the instructions provided to defer your fees.

- You have an outstanding balance from a previous session.
- You have not met your candidacy requirements.
Hi Everyone, \n\nWelcome back! I hope your semester is off to a great start. Quick updates for everyone:

Dear Colleague,
Applications are open for the next session of our popular Data Science Certificate for UofT Doctoral Students that the Data Sciences Institute offers in collaboration with the School of Graduate Studies. We would very much appreciate if you could highlight this opportunity to your doctoral students and colleagues with UofT doctoral students.
This not-for-credit certificate equips participants with practical data science skills that can complement their academic research and support broader career development goals. The Certificate includes a module on deploying AI applications, including large language models (LLMs), to reflect emerging trends and growing student interest.β―Given the need for data sciences upskilling across a wide range of disciplines and careers, the Data Science Certificate content is suitable for students from a broad range of academic disciplines with no prior data science experience.

There is an opportunity for you guys to purchase Roots Rotman PhD merch. The design could be either the first one or the second one, depending on the vendorβs availability. Please fill out the following form if you want one. The cost is about 120 to 150 dollars per piece. The cost could be lower if we get more orders. The Rotman PhD Association might be able to pay for the orders for the current first-year students, and the additional funding can go towards the rest of us.
